Traffic eChallan (Parivahan)

For many states, traffic challans are available on the central Parivahan eChallan portal.

  • Keep your vehicle number and challan number (if available) ready.
  • Go to the official Parivahan eChallan website.
  • Enter the required details and verify challan amount.
  • Pay online using the payment options on the government portal.

Official portal link above is operated by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India. Always check that the address bar shows a secure government domain ending with .gov.in.

State Police / City Traffic Challans

Some challans are shown only on the respective State Police or City Traffic Police portals. For Maharashtra, you can view and pay traffic challans directly on the official Maharashtra Traffic eChallan website.

  • Identify your state and city (for example, Delhi Police, Mumbai Traffic Police, etc.).
  • Open the official State Police / Traffic Police eChallan portal.
  • Search challan using vehicle number, challan number, or driving license number.
  • Confirm challan details and complete payment on the government site.
Open Maharashtra Traffic eChallan (View Challans)

Always use official police websites (typically ending with .gov.in or the official police domain) and avoid third-party payment pages that are not linked from the government site. For Maharashtra, the correct portal is https://mahatrafficechallan.gov.in/, as per the state traffic eChallan system described on the Highway Traffic Police and Maha Traffic eChallan sites.[2]

Some challans are paid through court or other department-specific portals.

  • Check the challan copy for the exact department or court mentioned.
  • Visit the corresponding official portal as printed on the challan.
  • Enter case or challan reference details carefully.
  • Pay online only on the official government payment page.
